Personality[]

Rangiku is a wonderful woman who is known for her energetic and rather playful charm that dazzles but sometimes exasperates those she meets. She is described as lazy to some, something optioning to go off drinking rather than work. The blonde from time to time act as if she doesn’t have a sense of duty but that is far from the truth. Despite her jovial and ditzy persona, Rangiku is a loyal and strong woman who stands up for her beliefs. She has a resilient sense of loyalty to those who refer to her as her friends and is quick to defend those who cannot defend themselves. Rangiku tries her best not to let her personal feelings get ahead of her professional work but there are times where sometimes her heart does overwhelm her judgment.

At times Rangiku acts as the voice of reason when patience is nil, quick to dispel feuds among her friends and allies alike. She is a responsible woman who takes her duties seriously but retains a friendly and casual demeanor. The beautiful blond is never described as too strict or prudish but she can be rather pushy or annoying when she is in her mischievous moods. She is a good person with a good heart, always trying to look out for others and lending a helping hand when others are in need.

Rangiku is a very charismatic woman who is well liked by both men and women alike.

History[]

Born in Ivona, Rangiku's parents were killed during a raid while traveling across the Badlands by bandits when she was just a young girl. Left for dead by these bandits in the quiet town of Shashta, she nearly succumbed to starvation if it wasn't for the help of a young boy who shared his food from a nearby orphanage with her. That boy was Gin Ichimaru, her childhood friend and for a while, the only person who even cared if she lived or died. Much like many other orphans in town, Rangiku had to fend for herself in Shashta sometimes taking odd here and there at local establishments. It was not until Rangiku took a part-time gig at a mana crystal mine that her supernatural powers began to take affect. Because of the potent crystals that lurk within Shashta's mines, Rangiku was able to detect mana crystals rather easily cause of her hidden powers.

Managing to make a semi-descent life for herself in that small town, Rangiku stayed at Shashta for quite sometime even after Gin left for the military. Crushed that her only friend was gone but happy he managed to find a path in life, she began to work even harder at the mines there before finding a dull gray mana crystal during her shift. Keeping the unusual crystal with her as a good luck charm, Rangiku saved up enough money to open her own tavern in town. Life for the next several years were brutally uneventful until one day an old and weary shaman from Vohemar wandered into her establishment. The old man had a long white beard and thick bushy white eyebrows to match; he wore a tattered black and white kimono that reminded Rangiku of the kind of dress depicted in samurai novels. Offering her home to the shaman for him to rest, the old man agreed but told her he would repay her kindness once he reaches Solare. For several days, the old shaman stayed in her home and Rangiku felt as if she had another person worthy enough to call a 'friend' but soon the old man vanished without a trace. Noticing that the gray mana crystal she had was also gone, the blonde assumed that the old bastard stole it while she wasn't paying attention.

It was not until a year after their fated meeting that she received a heavy package in the mail. Within the box laid a bright red-sheathed blade in the middle of a pool of expensive fine silks. The bronze guard was in the shape of a feline's head and the long hilt was laced with pink and white. Picking up the blade for the first time by its hilt, Rangiku heard a whisper from her soul command her to name this blade 'Haineko'. The gray mana crystal she thought she lost was forged to become this sword's steel by the old man she once cursed in betrayal and rage.

Learning more about magic and mana crystals on her own, Rangiku ran across another traveler, this time a young boy from Kropmork-Nahk. Taking a slightly motherly yet sisterly role with the young traveler, she taught this boy the basics about magic and taught him how to channel his soul within the Zanpakutou he owned. The two of them learned together how to master their blades but eventually parted ways once the young boy defeated her in combat. With his skills surpassing his supposed Master for the last two-years, Toshirou Hitsugaya wandered off on his own to seek a new teacher in hopes of further developing his skills.

Left alone again in this dusty town, Rangiku decided to take all her money hit the road. Like Gin and Toshirou, she left to find her own path in life with that precious blade by her side being the only companion she ever needs...

Relationships[]

Hitsugaya Toshirou- The relationship Rangiku has with Toshirou is a very complex one. Its almost as if they are 'brother and sister' but at times it seems as if they are more like 'boss and employee' rather than just friends. The two of them do not have a romantic bond between them but they are more like soulmates of a different sense of the word. Matsumoto is always there for Hitsugaya, always willing to help him no matter how many times he may fuss with her. The two of them are just inseperatable.

Gin Ichimaru- This relationship she has with Ichimaru is more complex than the one she has with Toshirou. They are childhood friends for the most part, the both of them relying on each other to survive during their youth. Gin is perhaps the only person who knows Rangiku inside and out. They are not boyfriend and girlfriend but they do have a rather intimate relationship despite the fact the both of them have secrets they keep from each other.

Heihachi Hayashida- Rangiku is honestly unsure what to think of this always smiling samurai but she does realize that he isn't a threat to her or Toshirou. Despite knowing that Heihachi is a sky pirate from the 4423, Rangiku does respect him enough not to judge him or his fellow pirates too harshly even if she does have a slight prejudice against most rogues. She isn't sure if she should trust him or not but Heihachi hasn't given her any reason not to trust him.

Cid Highwind- Rangiku views Cid as a great drinking buddy and probably wouldn't mind getting to know more about the former pilot now turned mechanic.

Sara Cruz- Despite the fact that Sara seems to be easily annoyed by her, Rangiku actually doesn't mind being around this stern little girl. She thinks Sara needs to have more fun and Rangiku is more than willing to help Sara become a friendlier person.

Shinjiro Aragaki- At first, the two of them used to butt heads because of Rangiku's dislike for Aragaki's method of cooking. However after surviving a fierce battle against a group of fearsome pirates, Rangiku doesn't seem to mind Aragaki as much as she did before. She willingly helped Shinjiro when he injured his knee during the skirmish, showing that Rangiku isn't as frivolous as she may seem to the moody chef.
